Mechanical Engineering Technician – Product Development and Procurement

Permanent position · Full time · Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. · $30 to $42/h · Sherbrooke

To support our growth, we are looking for a mechanical engineering technician who will play a key role between engineering, procurement and production.

You will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our products while ensuring the availability of the components needed for fabrication. You will actively participate in the evolution of our production methods to maintain the quality standards behind the Savage Trailers reputation.

Key responsibilities

  • Keep technical drawings and manufacturing documentation up to date
  • Participate in the design of new products and the improvement of existing models
  • Collaborate on the development of new manufacturing solutions
  • Prepare procurement orders and maintain inventory levels
  • Coordinate orders with suppliers and carry out required follow-ups
  • Collaborate with production to ensure components are available at the right time
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes
  • Support production teams when putting new products into production
  • Participate in solving manufacturing-related technical problems

Qualifications

  • DEC in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Good ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Good command of Solid Edge and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent spoken and written French

Strong assets

  • Good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of metal or aluminum fabrication processes

Working conditions

  • Permanent full-time position
  • Start date: as soon as possible
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Salary: $30 to $42 per hour, depending on experience and skills
